I began working for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in 2006, and since then have worked in several countries in West and East Africa and the Middle East, and covered many more countries in these regions. Between UNHCR deployments, I have worked in a volunteer capacity with recently resettled refugees in the US, through Catholic Charities and Lutheran Family Services refugee resettlement programs.
